TEST Discover 3D printing – a gentle introduction

TEST ONLY We will be running a short introduction to 3D printing on Noday Funtober the 34th at 11pm. There will be a bit of a show and tell around various techniques and printer types, how you find designs to print or go about designing your own. After that you will be able quiz our resident gurus. You might even get lucky and score a 3D printed trinket to take home. You will certainly get to see the 3D printers we have, which are available to all our members. We have several, from plain work horses to one quite fancy one.

TEST ONLY....ff 3D printing is an engaging hobby that is within reach of most Australians. Whether you are artistic, a budding (or real) engineer, a gamer or cosplay lover, or even a DIY enthusiast, 3D printing has something to offer you. People use it for making toys, building enclosures for electronics projects, making cookie cutters (that’s actually quite a thing), useful gadgets for the kitchen or car. There are even a few one-handed people who tried to make guns.

The whole thing should take a couple of hours, though we can hang around longer for the really curious visitors.

This session is free for members, $10 for non-members, with a cup of tea or coffee thrown in. But either way, please register below so we know whether to set up a space for 5 or for 50 people. Our club rooms in Moorabbin are well equipped to handle either.
