Microcontroller Discovery: LED light strip with remote control

šŸ“šSo-called addressable LED (Light Emitting Diode) strips have become very popular in recent years. They consist of up to many tens of LEDs, each of which can be individually set to a different colour and brightness, held on a flexible ā€œtapeā€ that can be stuck onto almost any flat, clean surface. They are controlled with just 3 wires connections to a microcontroller such as the ESP32 we are using in this workshop series.

šŸ› ļøIn this Microcontroller Discovery Workshop session you will connect a 60-LED strip to an ESP32, along with a small device that acts as a receiver/decoder for commands from a handheld remote control, very similar to what you use for your TV (it works on exactly the same principle). Then you will upload a suitable program into the ESP32 and be able to explore a number of light and colour patterns on the LEDs.

āœ…Please note that you need to haveĀ The Absolute BasicsĀ covered before attending this workshop.
We cannot afford to be held up by people who have not acquiredĀ The Absolute Basics!

šŸ’»For this workshop you must bring your own Windows laptop with the software installed and working. SeeĀ The Absolute Basics
